Degree graduates
Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates must show CLB 7 English or NCLC 7 French in all four language areas. They have no field-of-study requirement.
Other university programs
Graduates of other university programs generally need CLB/NCLC 7. If the study permit application was submitted on or after November 1, 2024, an eligible field of study may also be required.
College, polytechnic and other non-university programs
These graduates generally need CLB/NCLC 5. If the study permit application was submitted on or after November 1, 2024, an eligible field of study may also be required.
